Why Belong
about us
The Bamendankwe Development and Cultural Association (BAMEDCA) is a community-based, non-profit and non-partisan organization that brings together sons and daughters of Bamendankwe living at home and in the diaspora. It serves as a platform for mobilizing the resources, skills, and commitment of the Bamendankwe community to address local development challenges while preserving our rich cultural heritage.
Bamendankwe, in Cameroon’s North-West Region, is a community rich in culture, tradition, and resilience. Across generations and around the world, its people share a strong sense of belonging and commitment to their homeland.
Facing challenges in education, healthcare, infrastructure, and economic opportunities, Bamendankwe’s greatest strength has always been its people and their spirit of solidarity.
This inspired the creation of the Bamendankwe Development and Cultural Association (BAMEDCA). Guided by “Peace, Unity and Development,” BAMEDCA unites Bamendankwe people everywhere to preserve culture and drive sustainable development.
Through a network of branches in Cameroon and the diaspora, BAMEDCA brings together youth, elders, and leaders to support education, empowerment, infrastructure, sustainable agriculture, environmental protection, and cultural heritage.
More than an association, BAMEDCA is a movement proving that unity and shared vision can transform communities and create lasting opportunities for future generations.
Our Mission
Our mission is to unite the people of Bamendankwe at home and across the diaspora to mobilize resources, promote cultural heritage, and support sustainable development initiatives that improve the well-being and opportunities of our community.
Through collaboration, transparency, and community participation, BAMEDCA works to address key development challenges while strengthening the bonds that connect Bamendankwe people around the world.
Our Vision
Our vision is to see a united and thriving Bamendankwe community where peace, cultural pride, and sustainable development create lasting opportunities for present and future generations.
We aspire to build a community where education, healthcare, economic empowerment, and cultural preservation contribute to a better quality of life for all.
Bamendankwe is a vibrant and historic community located in the North-West Region of Cameroon, known for its rich cultural heritage, strong traditions, and deep sense of unity among its people. For generations, the community has been guided by values of respect, solidarity, and collective responsibility, which continue to shape its identity today.
The people of Bamendankwe are proud of their cultural roots and traditions that are preserved through festivals, traditional institutions, and community gatherings. Under the leadership of the Fon and traditional council, cultural values are passed from one generation to the next, strengthening social harmony and community pride.
Beyond its cultural significance, Bamendankwe is also a community with great potential for development. Its sons and daughters, both at home and in the diaspora, remain deeply connected to their homeland and committed to contributing to its progress. Through collaboration, shared vision, and community-driven initiatives, Bamendankwe continues to grow while preserving the traditions that define its identity.
