Executive Summary

BAMEDCA is constructing a water catchment system to improve clean water access across Bamendankwe. The project targets quarters that currently depend on unsafe water sources, aiming to reduce waterborne diseases and ease the burden on women and children who travel long distances to fetch water.

Problem Statement

Several quarters in Bamendankwe lack reliable access to clean drinking water. Residents  particularly women and children  spend significant time and energy fetching water from distant or contaminated sources, negatively impacting health, school attendance, and productivity.

Objectives

  • Construct a functional water catchment and distribution system
  • Provide clean, reliable water to at least 10 quarters
  • Reduce waterborne disease incidence in target communities
  • Reduce time spent fetching water, especially for women and children

Target Beneficiaries

Approximately 5,000 residents across 10 underserved quarters of Bamendankwe, with priority given to households with children and elderly members.
